Now out of them 24 are girls
now how many of them are boys
Just simple we don’t now that how many
Of them are ‘boys’
Use ‘x’ is used for unknown terms

• So now we have:-
x{Boys} + 25{girls} = 60
x{boys} = 60 – 24 {means total – 24}
x{boys} = 36
so there are 36 boys in class.
This is how are variables used

• Let’s say we have ‘x’ number of chocolate
Again we purchase same‘x’number of chocolates
so the total would be x + x = 2x
