Clinical Field Experience D: Learning Growth and Support
The learning status of the student prior to the activity was that he was very disengaged
from lessons. He has a hard time staying focused and needed instructions and questions
repeated multiple times during lesson.
The results from two formative assessments were that the student did well with them and
was able to reach the goals that we had set in place. We had to take things slower then
anticipated but with extra help and more time the assessments were successful.
The first goal we selected is in a field of three options the student would be able to
correctly identify the shape that he is asked to identify. If the student gets it right, we move
onto another shape. If the student gets it wrong, we review the shape I asked them to identify
and try again. We chose this goal because the student needs help with shape identification and
thought this would be interactive and allow the student to identify shapes.
The second goal that was selected was the student would match the written word of the
colors to the appropriate color. If the student gets it right, we move onto another shape. If the
student gets it wrong, we review the shape I asked them to identify and try again. We chose
this because it allows the student to practice reading and correctly identify what the written
word is.
