I agree with the pastor of this article when he states that in his “Experience has been
preaching of God's word to a local congregation there is a direct link often produces church
growth both in numbers between church growth and Christian maturity”Self,(2013). Paul says
that "Faith comes from hearing"(Rom 10:17). The gospel message taught properly is a beautiful
communication letter of God wanting to be with his creation. The bible simple chronicles how
God wanted a family to spend time with and he needed different human voices to communicate
his messages. “It is important to note that God Himself was the first preacher. He spoke creation
into existence with His mighty word. His word accomplished its purposes, as God saw that
everything was good” Merida 2009, pg. 5.One of the ways that God instructed his mouthpieces
to communicate his will is through teaching and preaching "How then shall they call on him in
whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?
and how shall they hear without a preacher” (Romans 10:14 (KJV))? The Preacher who is
delivering God's words must do so out of love, obedience, and care. There are different events
that happen in nearly every ecclesiastical house that a preacher has to have effective
communication skills such as a Christian who has left and now returned, a divorce between two
Christians in the same church and the death of a love one within the house of God, these three
things and many others must be handled with wisdom and proper scripture context.
Unfortunately,“In recent years I have been aware of the suspicion that churches
showingnumerical growth are somehow compromising the gospel, and indeed therehave been
occasions where this has been correct. There have also beenoccasions where numerical growth is
the result of manipulation of theemotions of very vulnerable people, but this is not always the
case”Self, (2013).
