The Principles for Effectively Implementing an Action Plan
An effective action plan requires clear objectives and goals before the implementation
process. Purposes in action plans comprise of the things a client values. It is necessary to
consider writing the goals of the plan down and made flexible for easy adjustability. At the
beginning, noting the intended goals is advisable because it provides significant discussion
points for the action plan. The essence of the goals is to develop a definitive path that the process
may take during the implementation process. Furthermore, the goals offer the most appropriate
time the client may use it during the termination phase.
A suitable treatment plan has to integrate an active involvement of all parties present in
the session to determine the defined objective. At the participation stage, most people often fail
to integrate the required activities of the phase. The stage always involves conversations between
a counselor and the client focusing on the intended outcome of the process. Furthermore, the
stage is ideal because it provides great discussion points regarding the responsibilities of a
counselor, in addition to ways the rehabilitation is supposed to take place(Ivey, 2018). An active
participation by the client is recommended because it creates a significant ground for
understanding the client’s circumstances using a question and answer process.
The client support system is another ignored stage when implementing the action plan.
Effective action plans require lasting support procedures and involve a counselor and a client
against the rest of the world. Client support may include family members or friends. An
