One of the most hotly debated issues of our day centers around the issue of Immigration,
no other issue has brought on more division between friends, family and political leaders then
this critical issue. When you open speak about your ideology to others you are placed into the
camp of bleeding-heartliberals who wants to save the world, hug a tree or have open borders. If
you are in favor of having closed borders and protecting your community from outsiders and
strange ideals then your labeled a “far-Right: they are fascists or racists who believe that it is
wrong in principle for their political community to admit immigrants who do not conform to the
approved cultural or racial stereotype” Dennis Miller.
The author Dennis Miller in his conservative Precis gives his stages for
strikingrestrictiveimmigration policies to those states that wish to use them for the logical
purpose of limiting the flow of immigrates. His first debate comes from the liberal thought that
says that people should have the right to live when and where they want, Miller challenges this
notion by saying there is a difference between basic freedoms that he agrees that we all have and
enjoy and then he splits it into bare freedoms that do not have any kind of guarantees or
protections, then he makes a ridiculous comparison about purchasing a high priced sports car, in
that you may want to buy it but is it a right or do you have the right to purchase it, or to put it
simply -do you have the right to migrate wherever you want? The next question he asked is, does
a person have the right to exit where they live and enter into another location under the law. The
last statement centers around financial migration, does a person of a poor state have the right to
move to a rich state location? Once they have moved into the more beautiful setting do they have
the right to enjoy the privileges of that better state?What I did not understand is how he then
