Background Information
Ana does not come from a strong educational family background -which makes her
determined to be the first in her family to graduate from high school. While her mother did not
, get a high school diploma, she was able to finish the GED. The lack of educational assistance at
home makes it hard for Ana to enjoy school and be motivated. She has become lazy and refuses
to get up in the morning, which is causing Ana to be late to school. Medically, Ana suffered from
a delay in her physical growth. Aside from a growth issue, Ana had no other medical problems.
School Information and History
Ana entered Kinder at 5 years-old from preschool. Ana has no history of retention. She lived
within her grandmother’s neighborhood. Ana thinks she is too small to participate in sports
despite her love for them. She does much better with adults than peers when interacting with
others. Ana is determined to make her mother proud by doing the best she can in school.Ana low
grades cause self-esteem issues, and a lack of social skills with peers. Her lack of social skill
with peers is evident due to her preference in interaction with adults rather than peers.
Absences
Ana’s many absences throughout school. An average of 10 absences in grades Kinder
through seventh. The school has reported that Ana has had been out of school a total of 50 days
last academic school year, and two weeks at the beginning of this school year. April was a hard
month for Ana. She was absent, as much as she was present. It seems as though her absences get
