Benchmark – Healthy Family: A Strengths-Based Approach Essay
Families are the foundation of our society and culture, they play an important role in a
human’s life. Most individual’s main goal is to have a healthy and loving family. The meaning of
the word family can vary depending on an individual’s beliefs. A family is a group that has n
established emotional bond serving as an economic unit in our society, it is united by blood,
adoption, etc. However, many people do not believe in this definition and they believe that a
family does not have to be by blood or by law, but family are people who are there for you to
support you, and that care about you.
Every human is born from another human, however, not every individual was born in
their own blood-related family. There are millions of kids that have been given up for adoption
or have been put into the foster care system hoping to be adopted and be part of a loving and
healthy family. Many individuals, including those in the system believe that their biological
family did not want them and that is the reason why they were out in there, however, that is not
the case. A lot of children that are in the foster care or adoption system were put in there because
their parents passed away, or they were not able to take care of them properly due to the use of
