I believe it is always a good thing to go back and evaluate an event, lesson, experience,
etc. that has an impact on your life. This helps you to see why things happened the way they did,
how much you have grown, could/should you have done things differently, and/or what should

it will only prepare me more for my future classes and internships.
Strong Leadership Elements
While reflecting on the ELCC standards, I found that I have strengths in areas that will
continue to help me grow and improve my leadership skills. One of these areas was in ELCC
standard 2. This standard covers the instructional culture of the school, which involves the

curriculum. We make sure our students know our expectations and work hard for them. I have
shared these activities and ideas of how to keep students working toward my expectations with
other virtual teachers in the district. I am also not afraid to ask for assistance if I need it. I have
found that others are more receptive and want to hear my ideas when I want to hear theirs, and
don’t act like mine are the best. After all, we are all here to help our students succeed.
Another area I have found is a strength for me is ELCC standard 3, management of
school operations. Every morning I have been outside at the car drop-off as students arrive to
