Regress Argument E Regress Argument Evaluation Grand Canyon University: PHI-301-0500 An infinite regress is a series of appropriately related elements with a first member but no last member, where each element leads to or generates the next in some sense. An infinite regress argument is an argument that makes an appeal to an infinite regress. Usually, such arguments take the form of objections to the theory, with the fact that the theory implies an infinite regress is objectionable (Cameron, 2018). Simply stated, the Epistemic Regress Problem can be explained as the need to give a reason, and your reason for that reason, why you believe something is true. This is argument can be applied to any argument or belief that we may have. The problematic part of the skeptical attack says that you may have many beliefs backed by evidence but if one or more of those are false then your belief is false or untrue.
