Knowledgeable Information
Taking college classes can help students find knowledgeable information. For example,
when I was taking my class UNV-104 I learned a lot of knowledge on how to properly write a
paper. I took a lot of time to be able to fix my paper so that it sounded good. Knowledgeable
information can help a student with effective communication in their field, the strengths you can
bring, and opportunity to develop communication skills.
There is a lot of communication skills that go into being a social worker. Social workers
must communicate with a lot of different people on a daily basis the main people we will have to
talk with is our clients. We must communicate check ins and communicate with them if they feel
safe or not. We also have to have effective communication when deciding if a child is in an
abusive or mental health emergency, because it’s our job to keep them safe. As a social worker
you need to be able to communicate that since you are a mandatory abuse reporter. Effective
communication is also very important for social workers because you have to provide therapy for
your clients and listen and hear what they say.
The communication I could bring into social work is related a lot to my current job. I
currently work as a direct support professional I take care of the developmentally disabled. The
communication that I use with this job that I would use as a social worker is making sure the
client feels safe and understands we are them to assist them in their daily life. We also have to
