The following paper discusses the history of the fictional character Darth Vader and how
his many adverse life experiences may have impacted his life through the perspective of Freud,
Adler and Jung.
Character Demographics
For the purpose of this paper I have chosen the fictional character Darth Vader formally
known as Anakin Skywalker. The client is male, at the time of intake was age 44, Caucasian,
from a planet called Tatooine, in modern time would be considered a political assassin (Jackson,
2019).
Personal History of Character
Darth Vader, formally Anakin Skywalker, was an only child to a single mother. The
client was sold into slavery at a young age along with his mother (Lucas Film Ltd, n.d.). The
client never knew his father and grew up thinking that he had no father. At the age of nine the
client was taken from his mother to be trained as a religiose warrior. He had to choose, in a
matter of minutes, whether or not to leave the only family member heknew. The journey to his
home planet was filled with dramatic events that would cause any nine-year-old to second guess
his choice. Once aboard the ship to take them to Coruscant, he had a deep emotional connection
with Padme. After arriving to Coruscant to be tested to start training, his intentions and
emotional connections were questioned by the council of testers. He was accepted to be trained
and excelled in his ability to use the force, he also excelled in his pilot skills and his ability to
wield a light saber. As the client grew older, he experienced multiple situations that would test
what he had learned as a Jedi. These successful missions would put him in good standing with
the council to be chosen as a security detail for his friend and love interest, Padme. He kept her
safe from political assassination attempts and ultimatelythe two realizedtheir love for each other.
