In every field of work organizations give out evaluations to determine the work
performance of their employees. Are performance evaluations required by the law? According to
Duran, 2017 “Performance evaluations are not required by the law”. One would ask why
companies would do them then. Organizations find it very useful to see do these evaluations in
order to determine how well or poorly their staff are performing. These evaluations will allow for
the organizations to coach a staff member on what they need to improve on as well as
congratulate them for their good work. How a staff member works says a lot about a company.
Good working staff members with great work ethic sets the company’s reputation. Most if not all
federal organizations implement rules and regulations to maintain a well working and efficient
environment. Policies and procedures also set the tone for what employees must follow in and at
their workplace.
It is the human resources responsibility to train and provide all the information to their
managerial staff on what is expected of them how they must learn to lead others. The
management staff must know what to look for when evaluation time comes around for their
employees. Everyone must be on the same page when it comes to benefitting for the company’s
success. All managers need to understand the delivery process and what is to be gained out of the
situation (Heathfield, 2019). Just as the understaff, management also receive evaluations in
which they must use in a positive note whether it be a constructive criticism, overall it must all
fall towards improving the work performance for themselves and with that to lead others. All
must fall under the company’s standards.
How would you hold the managers accountable for the proper use of performance
appraisal system? Being appointed as the HR administrator, I would ensure that all the
managerial staff are in line with the company’s staff appraisals as needed. One thing I feel would
