WHY GCU?
What would you do if you could choose your fate? Being raised in an environment where
you’re always looking for better, you tend to learn a lot about yourself. Struggle is a very
misunderstood concept in a lot of people’s lives, my family strived from struggling, it pushed us
to places we never thought we would be right now. I’ve strived academically through my
lifetime; I always had a plan and goals to make sure my family was taken care of in the future.
Going to GCU and getting my accounting degree is a milestone I hope to cross.
Accounting has always been something I have been interested in. Accounting being the
language of business had a lot to do with it. I would like to learn accounting and perfect it
throughout my life so that I can be fluent in the language of business. There are many fields
within accounting that I can involve myself in for the future, whether it is corporate accounting,
government accounting, financial analysis, to non-profit accounting audit. As many people know
business runs the world, it is something that will repay you for the time and hard work put in
with fortune and success. I am willing to put in that hard work, efficiency, and effort.
My freshmen year of high school I remember the carelessness, laziness, and lack of
knowing the responsibilities, and important of school. I did not start out very well, so I had to
change somethings, open my eyes and find a solution to graduating high school. I always blamed
everything on the life that was moving around me. These were the main weaknesses I had to
focus on. I said my main weakness is time management, what I had to do is, draw myself a
schedule and push myself into following it on a regular basis. This helps with both time
