 What was the course material that suggests that this particular communication behavior was an

, The course material that suggests that this particular communication behavior was an appropriate

target for changed was when we discussed conflict. In that section we discussed many ways that

conflict is managed. I discovered that I managed conflict with avoidance and gunnysacking

which is like, “carrying an imaginary bag into which we place unresolved conflicts or grievances

over time” (McLean 2018, p. 438). While learning this I also pieced together that boundary

setting was a huge issue for me due to avoiding conflict. This led to resentment, anger, and

occasionally inability to regulate tense emotions.

 Which of your behaviors particularly please you?


The behaviors that particularly please me from part 7 are the behaviors in which I am able to set

boundaries and say no. I feel that often in my relationships, I was a “people pleaser” out of fear

of rejection or conflict. Because of this I would always put others before myself which would in

turn lead to resentment and in the end terminate the relationship.


 What was the course material that suggests that this new communication behavior is a positive

change?


The course material that suggest that the new behavior is a positive change is because when

managing a problemit is “important to step back from personal involvement and go through a

structured process to determine the best solution” (McLean 2018, p. 458). By realizing what the

issue was I was able to determine the best solution in how to fix it which was by better
