Nursing care for patient with DIC
Give this one a try later!
swabs for oral care, no tooth brush floss or alcohol based mouth washes;
bleeding precautions; no BP cuff, venus blood draws; Turn every 2 hours;
assess skin for tissue ischemia; assess neuro for brain bleed; monitor lab
trends; emotional support
,Cardiac Surgery
Give this one a try later!
epicardial pacing wires, PA catheter, chest tubes- not to drain >200ml/hr, JP
drains, leg wounds, ventilator-usually extubate 2-4 hours; ambulation-that
evening; discharge-5 days
Exercised stress test (EST)
Give this one a try later!
patient may have normal resting ECG, but develop abnormalities that
require therapy, when increased demand is placed on the heart; treadmill;
vasodilator medications-increase HR, contractility and BP (thallium,
persantine, dobutamine stress tests); non-exercise stress tests (persantine,
dobutamine, adenosine)
Pulmonary hypertension treatment
Give this one a try later!
oxygen, monitor symptoms, vasoldilators, anticoagulants, patient teaching,
heart-lung transplant
Interventions for patient with DIC
Give this one a try later!
, assessment and interventions should target potential sites of organ
damage; monitor and assess carefully; avoid trauma and procedures which
increase risk of bleeding; avoid activities in which would increase
intracranial pressure; heparin is used to stop the abnormal clotting in
capillaries and arteriols
Positive stress test
Give this one a try later!
show 2mm depression in ST segment at any HR
Heart failure
Give this one a try later!
inability of heart to pump sufficient blood to meet the needs of the tissues
for oxygen and nutrients; myocardial disease, problem with contraction or
filling, causes pulmonary or systemic congestion; chronic HTN, CAD valve
disease, systolic/diastolic failure; can lead to death; SOB, edema, fatigue;
Right side peripheral congestion; Left side pulmonary congestion; Ace
inhibitors, beta blockers, ARBS, diuretics, digitalis, calcium channel
blockers; promote healthy lifestyle, activity, fluid balance, control anxiety,
minimize powerless, monitor complications
Medical management of heart failure
