The study “Characterization and Analysis of Drumstick Fiber” explores the potential of Moringa oleifera (drumstick) fiber as a sustainable natural material. Conducted at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), the research aimed to analyze its properties and compare them with other natural fibers like jute and banana. The fibers were extracted using boiling and alkaline treatments and then tested through SEM, FTIR, TGA, and XRD methods. Results showed that drumstick fiber contains 54.02% cellulose, 16.57% hemicellulose, and 17.81% lignin, giving it good strength, flexibility, and thermal stability up to 200°C. It has a semi-crystalline structure and a rough surface, which make it suitable for use in biodegradable composites, paper, ropes, and eco-friendly packaging. However, due to its high lignin content, it needs chemical treatment to become softer and more suitable for textiles. In conclusion, drumstick fiber is an eco-friendly and renewable alternative to synthetic fibers. It has strong potential for industrial use and can also provide economic benefits for rural communities if commercialized on a larger scale.
