Organiseer een festival!
In mei begint het al te kriebelen en vanaf juni zijn we niet meer te houden. Vanaf dan kijken
we er allemaal naar uit het volgende Koningsdagfestival. Dit is ook vaak direct het begin van
het festivalseizoen. Kies je voor een mainstream groot festival of een gemoedelijk klein
feestje. Laat je budget het toe? Alles is mogelijk, heb je een goed idee? Dan organiseer je
een eigen festival!



Waarom je eigen festival?
De zogenoemde DIY- festivals schieten als paddenstoelen uit de grond. Drie jaar geleden
begon deze trend zich te ontwikkelen. Mede door de overheid, die in het kader van
bezuinigingen, sneed in de subsidie voor kunst en cultuur. Om toch een creatief idee een
kans te geven ontpopte zich de DIY-festivals. Door de kleinschaligheid, is de sfeer doorgaans
ongedwongen. Met wat organisatorisch talent en slimme ideeën zijn de mogelijkheden
eindeloos.



Spanning
De spanning die het met zich meebrengt geeft een DIY festival nog een extra dimensie.
Zullen mensen wel naar jouw festival komen? Word je niet bij voorbaat of tijdens het festival
tegengehouden door de politie? Komen je artiesten wel opdragen?
