*RECORDS BUREAU* Answer - The Records Bureau acts as LVMPD's central
repository for incident, arrest, and traffic
records. It is responsible for the control, maintenance, review, retrieval and
dissemination of
records, except those authorized to be permanently maintained in operational
units. This
Bureau also collects, retains, and disseminates juvenile records to ensure only
authorized
access is permitted. The Records Bureau also handles scanning, sealing of
records, and UCR
or NIBRS reporting.
The Bureau consists of the following 4 sections: Answer - Central Records
Section, Administrative Support Section, Records Imaging Section, Criminal
History Section
The Central Records Section is responsible for: Answer - processing and
disseminating copies of
various reports; taking incident crime reports in person and via telephone;
communicating
information to officers and citizens via telephone; data entry of incident crime
reports into the
incident crime reporting system; maintaining the Wanted Vehicle Desk and
Teletypes; and all
