How did you prepare for this position? Answer - I downloaded the study guide
provided for us on the LVMPD website. I studied it everyday leading up the the
written test and even after to keep the information fresh in my head. Over the
last couple years I did a couple ride alongs. This gave me a feel for the different
aspects and positions in the department. I also took the time to learn majority
of the 400 codes so I knew what the officers were talking about during my ride
alongs.
Why do you want to work as a LEST? Answer - I decided I wanted to work for
this department back when my brother was in the police academy. My brother
and his academy mates would come over to the house and study for their tests
together. Seeing all their motivation and dedication inspired me to follow in
their path. While I don't think becoming a police officer is for me, I am
fortunate that there are civilian positions available. My ultimate goal is assist
the police officers in bettering this community and keeping it safe.
Do have a background with customer service? Answer - Yes, I have a
background in customer service. Customer service has been part of my job
duties since I started working at the age of 17. I've provided excellent customer
service to all ages starting at 5 years old.
