Executive Summary
Dental office owners, Dr. Bob and his son Dr. Robert Jr. have recently been offered the
opportunity to expand their current practice to a nearby office that will more than double the
workspace. Their business has never utilized any IT system for processes and does not have any
infrastructure in place to expound on. The project is to plan an installation of a comprehensive

, IT solution that will facilitate the business needs of the Marley Dental Clinic. The major purpose
for this project is to provide an IT system that will be modern and will make the practice more
efficient (Integrated Team, n.d.).
Several IT systems will be configured to support the business operations at Marley Dental
Clinic. A comprehensive ERP system will be implemented to facilitate automatic appointment
booking, billing, purchasing, and sales. Additionally, IT system and network infrastructure
equipment will be configured to support the needs of the business and the end users (i.e. dentists,
dental assistants, receptionist, bookkeeper, etc.).
The steps to get this project underway would be first to bring the project team together that
will design and execute the project. These team members will also get with Dr. Bob and his son
Dr. Robert Jr. to align the requirements and scope of the project. This will bring everyone
together working for the same goal on this project. Then the team will develop a charter,
preliminary schedules and a budget. These documents are to ensure all stakeholders agree on
what is needed in this project, how the project will be ran and monitored to stay on schedule and
how much it is projected to cost.
