The use of technology improves health care efficiency, quality, safety and the cost in the medical facilities. However, people may consider the use of similar technology to introduce some errors in the workplace. Registered nurses use technology for example the use of computers in ordering and scheduling medication for their patients. One of the common emerging technology in the health care is the introduction and use of computers. Registered nurses use computers in patient care documentation and procuring medicine from various medical suppliers. This has been made possible with such systems as the Electronic health records (EHRs) and Electronic medical records (EMRs).Computers and monitoring equipment are used in almost every aspect of nursing. Most of these applications used by the registered nurses are wireless. Today, nurses must know how to apply technology safely and appropriately in their daily activities ( Nagel, 2017).
Computer technology is used by nurses when attending to their patients because of several advantages it has. Computers are used by nurses for timekeeping and scheduling purposes in order for them to order medications for their patients. This will reduce delays in the health care.
