Albuterol Sulfate (Proventil, Ventolin) - ANSWER/Beta - 2 agonist that produces
bronchodilation
Indications:
-Acute bronchospasm (asthma) due to asthma, COPD or allergic reactions
Contraindications:
-Known hypersensitivity
-Dysrhythmias, especially those caused by digitalis
-Dosage: 2.5mg via Neb , max 3 doses

Indications:

Contraindications:

Dosage:
- Adult 0.3 mg IM
- Ped 0.1 mg/kg (max 0.3mg) IM for Bronchospasm / Acute Allergic Rxn
- Cardiac Arrest 0.1 mg / kg (max 10 mg) diluted in 5 mL NS via ETT
Ipratropium Bromide (Atrovent) - ANSWER/Anticholinergic bronchodilator. Prevents
binding of acetylcholine with muscarinic receptors, inhibiting bronchoconstriction
Indications:
- Acute bronchospasm (wheezing) associated with asthma or COPD in adult and
pediatric patients
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to ipratropium, atropine or its derivatives, soy, or peanuts.
Dosage:
- 0.5 mg via Updraft combined with Albuterol
- Not indicated for patients < 12 years old
Xoponex (Levalbuterol) - ANSWER/Relatively Selective B2 adrenergic receptor agonist
Indications:
- Acute bronchospasm (wheezing) due to asthma, COPD or allergic reactions
Contraindications:
- Patients <6 years of age
- Hypersensitivity to Xoponex or racemic albuterol
