· Senior at UW, studying finance & information systems.
· I am also a finance Intern at NAES Corp right now where I've gotten to learn more
about analyzing financial statements, forecasting budgets, and using excel to create
models.
· Through my course work and job experience as an office manager at a local business,
finance coordinator for a club on campus and internships.
· All of these experiences have led me to pursue a career in finance more specifically as
a financial analyst, working with models and creating valuation is something I found I
really enjoy and excel at.
· This role caught my attention being a position heavily focused on valuations and
requiring project management, multi-task, and attention to detail skills, all skills I think
I've been able to develop throughout my different experiences.
Why do you want to pursue real estate? Why do you want to work here? - answerI want
to pursue real estate because I think there is a lot of growth potential it in the long-term
future. Especially in affordable housing, the under supply of housing stock, is going to
lead to rent and value growth in residential sector over the next few years. Affordable
housing now more than ever is going to see a big increase growth, just cause more and
more people aren't in the position to afford living in the market we're in right now. With
interest rates starting to go up as well financing these expensive homes is getting
harder.
Working at CBRE also combines two fields I'm very passionate about finance and real
estate. My course work and experience these past couple of years have shaped my
analytical skills and working on valuations and creating models is something I found that
I really enjoy. So finding career that meshed all these things into one is what drew me to
CBRE.
Why CBRE over other Real Estate companies? - answerCBRE mission culture and
mission is driven by innovation, growth, and collaboration. I want to be a part of a
company that who is going to push me to grow and that I can contribute myself to
helping them grow and to having a bigger impact than myself. I think CBRE gives me
the opportunity to surrounding myself with passionate and driven people. And really
learn from some of the best professionals in the industry.
What are three of your strengths? - answer· My biggest strength lies in my adaptability
and dependability,
· I take pride in seeing the hidden perspective and stepping up when there is a
challenge making sure I take measures I need to ensure I reach the end goal I'm
striving for.
, · For example, at my job at Alliance Auto Care, my boss came to me and a few of my
co-workers with the task of bringing new clients to the business. We had already tried
in-person marketing before with flyers but it didn't seem to get the results we were
hoping for.
· I came up with the idea of using google business and google ads to advertise the
business. Everyone was unfamiliar with google ads so I stepped up to the challenge
and learned about SEO's and google ads on my own, I actually created a few ads that
we were then able to generate more sales and gain new clients.
· Another strength of mine would be not taking everything for face value, and
questioning things to ensure the validity of them.
What are three of your weaknesses? - answerWhen I'm given a task, I am very goal-
oriented and work hard to complete that task individually. Although I recognize
collaboration as being a very useful tool when projects are given individually and not as
a team I struggle with reaching out later since my mindset starts to fixate on this being
my task that I should know how to solve. However, this mindset has hindered my
productivity in the past and prevents me from delivering my best work. I have been
using my various leadership roles as an outlet to practice delegation and
communication of help so I can manage my tasks and my time, which has helped me
become more aware of prioritization. Since implementing this project management
mentality, I have only improved my efficiency and productivity.
Another weakness is that I sometimes focus too much on the details of a project and
spend too much time analyzing the finer points. But I've made improvements on this as
well by checking in with myself at regular intervals and giving myself a chance to
refocusing on the bigger picture. With this I'm still able to ensure quality without it
affecting my productivity.
