Class 7
Lesson – 7.3
Transportation in Animals and Plants - Chapter 7
Parameters Descriptions Notes for teachers
Chapter Covered Chapter 7: Transportation in Animals and Plants
Name of the NCERT, Science Textbook for class VII
Book
Learning Students will learn about the circulatory system. They will also
Objectives analyze the factors responsible for heart problems and the
parameters that affect the heart’s health.
To enable learners to:
Scholastic:
Stage 1: Conceptualization
● Define blood, blood vessels, pulse rate and heartbeat.
● Explain the components of blood.
● Differentiate between arteries and veins.
● Describe the working of the heart.
● understand the average heartbeat per minute and
temperature and analyse its impact if it increases or
decreases.
● construct an AIoT-based model to measure heartbeat per
minute and temperature of the body.
AI and Tinkering:
Stage 2: Apply Design Thinking Framework
● Analyse the factors responsible for heart problems.
● Enlist the parameters that affect the body's health.
● Identify the types of testing that can be done to detect heart
issues.
Stage 3: Making a Hardware
● List the various factors to be considered to categorize the
body as healthy or unhealthy.
● Understand how the pulse and temperature sensor works.
● Comprehending the concept of machine learning and how
machines learn the patterns of the dataset provided.
● Creating a prototype that detects health conditions based on
various parameters such as age, pulse rate and body
temperature.
Stage 4: Making AI-enabled software
● Build an AI model to make the predictions around the data
collected using sensors.
● Understanding how the machine tries to identify the pattern
in the data provided and can make the predictions based on
its learning.
Stage 5: Making complex Modelling
● Combine their knowledge of sensor technology with
electronics and AI to create their own project.
, Time Required 5 periods of 45 minutes each
Classroom/ATL Seating arrangement:
Arrangement ● Theory sessions – Regular classroom arrangement.
● Activity sessions – Flexible (for group/pair work).
Material Scholastic:
Required ● Textbook
● Smart Board/screen and projector
● Pen and paper
● White board and marker
● Stethoscope
AI and Tinkering:
● Arduino UNO
● Pulse Sensor
● Temperature Sensor ( LM-35)
● LCD
● Resistors
● Connecting Wires
● Personal Computer/Laptop with Internet Connection
Pre – Preparation Scholastic:
Activities Students are shown some videos on the circulatory system in
the human body and working of the heart.
● How does human circulatory system work – 3D animation –
in English - YouTube
● Heart 101 | National Geographic - YouTube
● How the heart actually pumps blood - Edmond Hui -
YouTube
AI and Tinkering:
● Health Monitoring System using Arduino UNO R3 | see the
the video “घर बैठे ऐसे करे है थ चैक | 2021 | Professorhulk -
YouTube
Previous Scholastic:
Knowledge Students should have learnt the following earlier. -
● The essential organs that help in the functioning of our body.
● The pumping organ of our body.
● The gaseous component that is inhaled and is vital for our
normal body functioning.
● Which organ is responsible for transporting oxygen to our
whole body?
● How is the oxygen carried to the whole body?
This question will help students to get an idea of what we are
going to study today in the classroom.
AI and Tinkering:
Basic knowledge of the following would be needed-
● Programming an Arduino UNO Board.
● Sensor connections and usage.
● Acquainted with machine learning for kids' website.
