, Atmosphere
Definition:The atmosphere is a layer of gases held to the earth by
gravitational force.
Importance of atmosphere in earth
● It plays a very important role in the water cycle, and facilitates the
formation of clouds that are suspended in the air until they are too
heavy(because it have a lot of water) and pour down in form of rain,
snow and hail(granizo)
● Protects life forms on earth from the UV rays that came from the sun.
The ozone layer does this by reflecting the UV rays of the sun
● Keeps temperature of the earth constant so its good to live
● Contains N2(Nitrogen), O2(Oxygen) and other gases that are
necessary to live on earth
● Facilitates combustion and without atmosphere will not be possible
Structure of the atmosphere with its layers
, In the troposphere when it goes more altitude it gets colder but when
it changes to stratosphere is a temperature inversion and it gets
hotter with more altitude.
