Classification of Nursing Action: It is two types. These are-
1. Direct care or action.
2. Indirect care or action.
1. Direct care or actions include helping the patient -
• With respiration.
• With eating.
• With elimination.
• Maintain desirable posture in walking, sitting etc.
• Rest and sleep.
• Select clothing dress and undress.
• Maintain body temperature.
• Carry out the physician’s plan of cure. e.g. administrate medication.
2. Indirect care or actions include helping the patient
• Co-ordinate the patient care activities of all team members.
• Advocate for patient, especially when they are unable to speak for
themselves.
• Manage and arrange for adequate resources. Such as - equipment and
supplies.
• Document and communicate all pertinent information about the patient to
appropriate sources.

action.

nursing as a professional service relationship.
Types of nursing
It is three types of nursing standards. These are –
• Professional standards of care: The diagnostic, intervention outcome and
evaluation competencies involved in personal nursing practice.
• Professional performance standard (ethical standards): Identify the

consultation and quality assurance.
