A mechanism of enabling human population to stay prepared as well as enabling timely
response to a public health outbreak or a disaster is critical for the American community and the
entire human race. Public health preparedness and response define the essential element for
handling and conveying crucial public health concerns across the globe. Public health
preparedness and response work hand in hand with WHO’s programs which are concern with
public safety during emergencies. The Center for Disease Control CDC works in partnership
with both state and local health departments in the formation of comprehensive response systems
in order to meet the health concerns of the affected community at both state and national level. In
order to have the best response during public health emergencies, there must an organized and a
well-coordinated way through which professional teams can integrate for improved service
delivery.
Public health preparedness and response teams consist of representatives from various
professional fields. These fields include public health laboratories, the council of states and land
epidemiologists, the association of state and territorial health officials, and the national
emergency management association. These entities come together to share vital information
necessary in response to the public health concerns and emergencies. As a team, these
professionals play a vital role in reducing the impacts of the emergency on the health of the
community. This makes public health preparedness critical in combating cases of public health
concerns such as the pandemic influenza or the current lung injury related illnesses linked to use
of E-cigarettes and vaping
