Executive Summary
Zenith Wellness Café is a specialty food company whose main business is to supply health-
conscious consumers with healthy and convenient products, such as protein bars and bottled
juices, to busy consumers. The increase in demand in the café, especially of its protein bars, has
shown that a challenge lies in ensuring the consistency of the quality of its products, the
efficiency of its workflow, and the efficiency of its labour and materials. The analysis of
productivity shows that labor hours and material usage are not as optimized, which implies that it
is possible to enhance labor and multifactor productivity by simplifying the workflow. TQM
assessment indicated a lack of standardization, employee engagement in continuous
improvement, and process orientation gaps. To solve these problems, it is suggested that the cafe
should use the Kaizen continuous improvement program that involves the standardization of
production, decreasing variability, and enhancing process capability and key performance
indicators, including Cpk and defect rate, should be tracked during six to eight weeks to
guarantee the maintenance of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
