+, Factor V & X req'd, serotype B most common (vaccine), septicemia, meningitis in children,
cellulitis, pneumonia, conjunctivitis. Used to be predominate cause of meningitis in children
between 3 and 6. Acute epiglottitis. non-spore, non-motile, 5% CO2 35-37C, -
ANS haemophilus influenzae



Gram - coccobacilli, "Hockey puck" appearance, Catalase+, Oxidase+, Nit Red +, O-F Media
Green/Green (asaccharolytic), Strict aerobe, SBA+ at 25C, CHOC -, opportunistic/nosocomial
lung infections. DNAse +, NON-FERMENTATIVE. BETA-LACTAMASE +, resistant to ampicillin and
amoxicillin. (s) to tetracycline

Does NOT grow on MAC - ANS moraxella catarhallis



Encapsulated, anaerobic, Gram - rods, Bile (R), Penicillin (R), Metronidazole (S), most common
anaerobic infection; abdominal abscess, wounds, blood infections, normal flora of gut -
