An event is an organised activity that presents a predetermined content in a thoughtful manner to a chosen
public, that becomes a participant to the activity
Dictionnaries : Something that happens or is regarded as happening; an occurrence, especially one of some
importance.
ACEA (Association of Communication Event Agencies) : Event communication is a communication discipline
which generates direct interaction with a target audience on the basis of spectacle techniques , without the use of
media(sic) . The event is a communication medium that allows an organisation/person to reach a particular
public in a particular place.
Event management is the coordination, running and planning of all the people, teams and features that come
together to create every kind of event.
The job of planning and managing large events such as conferences, trade shows, and parties.
Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of large scale
events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts, or conventions. It involves studying
the brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the
technical aspects before actually launching the event.
A planned and unique gathering or series of gatherings for one or more (invited) target groups where people
physically and/or virtually meet, being invited via a company, a government or a non-profit organisation (sic : or
private person). The organiser wants to create an emotional value as a support for obtaining the formulated
objectives.
