This mask is worn to protect against airborne transmission - chicken pox -
TB
Antipyretics
Give this one a try later!
Anything you take to keep the fever down. Example Tylenol, motrin. We use
cooling blankets. 104 degrees.
prodromal period

the period of time when symptoms begin.Nonspecific symptoms. The
cluster of symptoms and their order of appearance often help in the
diagnosis of the disease. Experience before a seizure.
urgent care
Give this one a try later!
Seek care but not an emergency.
,Gowns
Give this one a try later!
Use during procedures and patient care activities when contact of
clothing/ exposed skin with blood/body fluids, secretions, or excretions is
anticipated. Used only once
orthostatic hypotension
Give this one a try later!
Decrease in blood pressure related to positional or postural changes from
lying to sitting or standing positions. They get pooling of blood in the lower
extremities. Left the brain to the lower extremities quickly. People who are
healthy automatic system kicks in and reflexively compansates. Heart will
pump faster and harder. Increase pressure and heart rate up to the brain.
Vasoconstriction makes vessels smaller so the pressure can be up and
increase heart rate. Blood pressure drops and heart rate increases.
Unhealthy laying, 45 degree angle, to standing up straight.
Inflammatory responses
Give this one a try later!
nonspecific response to tissue injury. Inflammation attempts to limit the
injury's extent. This is a good response. Mount an inflammatory response.
Ex. after vaccination the body is supposed to go into this response. If you
take tylenol before the vaccine you are blunting the response

the most accurate. Always do a rectal temp if unsure if temp. Then make the
call to discuss the abnormality. We learn what to do as nurses. For the nurse
it's our job to think it through. We are the detective everyday for our patient.
1 degree higher than oral temp
The nurse detects a weak, thready pulse found from a client palpating peripheral
pulses. What condition does the nurse suspect the client is experiencing?

Decreased cardiac output
A nurse is caring for a client who is on complete bed rest while recovering from hip
surgery 12 hours ago. When the client is able to start walking, which ambulation aid
will most likely be recommended for use?

A walker
