ASSIGNMENT 6
Save the Rhino
Step 2
1. What was your original answer and why;
In assignment 01 I choose option E.simply because I love animals and nature in general, as
growing up as a child we use to go out to the zoo just to see this animals every school holidays,
until now I admire animals more especially the Rhino , Rhinos play an important role in tourism
industry and in the economy of South Africa and other African countries like Zambia,Kenya and
Zimbabwe,As more tourist are visiting our countries because of the Rhinos and other animals ,so
it is important to save this Rhinos and should anyone be found pouching this Rhinos I think this
person should be punished as this is a crime. The killing of the Rhino will have a negative impact
in South African economies, and it will make it difficult for us to meet national obligations. My
answer was driven by the morality of why we should let these animals die if we can save them, to
anyone who loves nature a supporter of conservation, as human being lets stand together as a
proud nation and do something about Rhino poaching
2. What’s your current answer is and why;
My current answer is still E, I love animals and I have learned about intrinsic and instrumental
value. The concepts have enabled me to stand firm about my answer. As humans we cannot
claim that we own the world alone as we also depend on nature for survival, for example
spending time in nature can reduce stress, improve your mood and it can also improve cognitive
performance, imagine if there was no sea ,plant and animals, the food and water that exist all
around us has always help humanity to survive, it is the moral thing to save this Rhinos because
we actually are to blame for putting them in the awful position in the first place, remember that
Rhinos are not like snakes or any other harmful animals that may harm us, there’s no reason to
kill them other than our selfish human needs to get their ivory, therefore have a moral obligation
and ensure that we put measure collectively to protect this Rhinos,
3.1 Do practice the values i am describing?
Yes, do as I’m against the killing of the Rhinos as they are important in our lives, and I also
believe that poaching is a crime that need to be taken seriously as the Rhinos have instrumental
value.
3.2 Can I really claim that these are my virtues?
Yes, I think is the right thing to do to save the Rhino, its humanity and my believe I know other
people might differ with me here, they deserve to live in this world just as us humans
3.3 Is what I am saying what I really do?
Yes, I do: by supporting the parks in reporting the people who are killing these Rhinos and also
by volunteering in programmes that are available throughout Africa to help to generate fund to
local projects. Assisting in implementing more security to avoid these killing to continue
