Week 1 Discussion The Value of the Humanities: Happy Week 1 everyone! To me the study of humanities is life. With humanities you learn about cultures and the way lives differ from your own. As a nurse, I experience many different nationalities and cultures every day. Life is lived in many ways and that’s why it fascinates me. I was 13 and in eighth grade when I won the middle school humanities award, so I am really looking forward to learning more in this class. America is known as the melting pot of the world because we stand for freedom, allowing others into our country for freedom and to bring diversity to our own culture.
