 Create a list of key phrases related to eating out and menu vocabulary for the student to
review.
 Gather interesting materials, such as , a sample menu, and short video clip of restaurant
scenarios.
 Share the list of target phrases and resources with the student in advance to prepare for the
lesson.
 Send a pre-lesson email outlining the lesson objective and ask the student to familiarize
themselves with the provided resources, examine the TL and practice pronunciation.

During:
Activity 1: Short discussion 8 mins

 Engage in a short discussion with the student about their eating out experiences or
upcoming plans. This may involve sharing favourite restaurants, memorable meals, or
expectations for their upcoming travels.
 Connect the discussion to their upcoming travels, stress the importance of feeling
comfortable when ordering food in new places.
 Prompt the student to share any challenges they faced or might face when ordering and
suggest ways to overcome them.
