1. How are the electrons arranged in a metallic bond?

They are filling up spaces in between the atoms of the metal.



2. What happens to the electrons when an electric field is applied?

The move freely and for a sea of electrons which makes them attracted to
the metal atoms which in turn result in a metallic bond.



3. From what you have learned, what are the 2 properties that are specific to
metallic bonds due to this “sea” of electrons?

Electrons are attracted to positive charges. Electrons will bond with the
atoms only if they are positively charged.
