CHEM 1212 Spring 2024 Exam 1
Questions are a mixture of multiple choice, multi-select, and free response. You must write your
answer to the corresponding question on the answer sheet, or it will not be graded. No extra time
will be given at the end of the exam to finish filling out the answer sheet – all answers must
be entered at the end of the 90 minutes.
Only use your myID (NOT your 81x number) on the answer sheet. Failure to use your
myID may result in your exam grade not being assigned to you correctly.
Write all answers in dark ink or pencil lead. Light writing may not be picked up when the exam
is scanned.
Answer all multiple-choice questions with capital letters, no spaces.
Answer all free response questions with correct formatting and significant figures.
50% credit will be given to an otherwise-correct answer to free response numerical questions
with incorrect significant figures.
Multi-select questions are graded with a right minus wrong grading scheme. A right answer is
worth a fraction of the overall points, while a wrong answer subtracts that same fraction. You will not
earn a grade below zero for excess incorrect answers.
When you have finished the exam, return the exam to your proctor. Tear off the answer sheet
and hand the packet and the answer sheet to your proctor.
