How is Holderness protected by an SMP?

Variety of approaches across different areas eg. in the north = do nothing for all time frames bc chalk cliffs and major settlements = far inland therefore wont be impacted for 100s of yrs

How has the Eastington gas terminal been an issue?

Currently protected by rock revetments and the SMP recommends these are maintained as long as terminal is operating BUT defences only span about 1km in from of terminal therefore village of Eastington not protected and defences may increase erosion at SSSI to the south

What features are there on the Holderness coastline?

-Headlands and wave cut platforms (eg. near Sewerby) in north where erosion rate = 0.04m/year -Underrating and stepped cliffs line bc slumping -Spurn head = recurved spit - 5.5km long
