Ted Bundy and Ronald Dominique: A Comparison of Two Infamous Serial Killers
Serial killers in American history have captured the attention of the public due to their
brutality and the complex motives that drive them. Among the notorious serial killers in
American history, Ted Bundy and Ronald Dominique, also known as The Bayou Strangler, stand
out for their high number of victims and years of terror. Despite their brutality and psychological
complexities, Bundy and Dominique have differences in terms of their appearances,
personalities, victim choices, and killing methods. This essay compares the two infamous serial
killers in terms of their physical characteristics and personalities, victim selection, methods of
killing, and their ability to evade capture.
Ted Bundy was a charismatic and charming individual with attractive physical features.
He was often described as an all-American boy possessing high self-esteem, intelligence, and
looks, which he used to gain the trust of his female victims. Bundy’s good looks helped him
avoid suspicion for years. On the other hand, Ronald Dominique is an American serial killer and
rapist who is short, overweight, shy and lived with low self-esteem from his childhood. During
his years of terror, Dominique did not display the same social skills as Bundy and was often
overlooked in public. Dominique struggled with low self-esteem, which affected his ability to
have romantic relationships, and he usually spent time isolated and insecure. Their contrasting
physical characteristics and personality played a critical role in how they approached their crimes
and interacted with people in public.
