Exam Coverage
Exam coverage for WEB WOC Ostomy Care includes foundational and
clinical ostomy nursing concepts related to the care of patients with
fecal or urinary stomas. It focuses on ostomy types (colostomy,
ileostomy, urostomy), stoma assessment, pouching systems, skin
protection, complication prevention, and patient education. The exam
also evaluates understanding of preoperative and postoperative care,
psychosocial support, nutrition and hydration considerations,
troubleshooting leakage or skin breakdown, and long-term self-care
management. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based ostomy care,
individualized teaching, complication recognition, and promoting
patient comfort, independence, and quality of life.
