• Bonsai is an art, which expresses miniature the
beauty of natural tree forms.
• The word bonsai is comprised of two words ‘Bon’
means a tray or shallow container and ‘Sai’ Means
to grow
This Japanese white pine (Pinus
parviflora) 'Miyalima' was started in
1625.
It was part of the gift from Japan to
the United States for the Bicentennial
in 1976.
It is currently part of the National
Arboretums bonsai collection.
