, Week 2 iHuman Assignment Reflection Worksheet
Please read the assignment guidelines and rubric. Respond substantively to each self-
reflection question below. Write on this template.
A. Assess your ability to gather information on your client within the iHuman
Virtual Patient Encounter.
1. Use the iHuman score sheet to review your results for the focused health
history and focused physical exam. How did you perform?
My first attempt I received a 100% on the history portion and a 50% on my physical
exam. After the fourth attempt, I received a 100% on the history portion and a 83% on my
physical exam. I think with experience, I was able to understand what iHuman was looking
for and understand the logic behind why I received the scores that I did. After some practice, I
was able to pick up on things and use my critical thinking skills to see why we would be
examining certain areas or asking certain questions. Having a virtual patient is hard to wrap
your head around when you are used to looking at a patient face-to-face.
2. What did you find easy or difficult about navigating through the focused
health history and focused physical exam sections of the case?
Navigating through the focused health history was not difficult if you followed the
instructional videos that were provided. This helped to give an idea of what to start looking
for and how to arrange your thoughts in a productive manner. I did not use the health
history notes because I found it easier to write my thoughts out and organize them in a way
that I understood before typing them out on the iHuman platform. Using the mnemonic
OLDCARTS helped me to organize the symptoms that were reported which were important,
while also helping me decide what was not important. It is also important to understand
pertinent positives and pertinent negatives, so that I was able to note what was positive to the
case and what was negative to get an accurate diagnosis.
