Acute care hospital setting
Acute care setting is a major level of health care whereby patients are treated for
transitory but severe diseases and during retrieval from surgical operation. This setting includes
emergency departments, coronary care. intensive care, cardiology together with several other
general areas (Connolly, 2019). In this setting, there are many interprofessional teams such as
doctors, nurses, therapists and physician assistant associated in various sections of this location.
These teams have diverse skills, knowledge and talents which combines to achieve a specific
goal. This collaboration result to improved staff knowhow, documentation, interprofessional
relation and communication.
Interprofessional team’s unity can help in improvement of health care through various
ways. Some of these ways include: prevention of medical errors, improving patient experience
and also enhancing better patients’ outcomes. On the other part of the organization, it may aid
the hospital to save on finances through shoring up plan redundancies and working inadequacies.
