Starbucks Corporation is one of the major coffeehouse companies globally. Its
organizational culture is an essential factor in its development. The company understands that
an effective organizational culture would create an environment that is conducive for highly
productive employees and high performance in terms of business. Currently, the company has
an organizational culture characterized by openness, inclusion and diversity, communication,
and collaboration (Ferguson, 2019). The culture also features servant leadership, which
prioritizes employees and a relationship-driven approach to ensure better and productive
interactions between the employees. As a company operating in a competitive industry, it has
to ensure that the organizational culture supports the performance of the employees
(Ferguson, 2019). The company has undergone changes in its culture to ensure that it
incorporates the necessary features to help achieve its goals, especially in human resources
management. The key point in the company’s innovative change is to infuse the human
connection in its strategies.
The company has changed its organizational culture to promote customer experience.
Although the company has been keen on ensuring good experiences for the customers, it has
intensified its commitment to the course over the last five years. One of the methods
introduced is through creating a sense of community for the employees and customers
(Ferguson, 2019). The employees have developed a sense of belonging as a result of the
changes made in the organization. The sense of community promotes better communication
and relationship between the employees, which in turn allows them to perform better.
