Nomad Coffee – Unit VIII Marketing Plan
Introduction
Nomad Coffee Co. intends to offer high-quality coffee, teas and bakery items to our
customers in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. We will also always provide friendly, fast and
quality customer service as well. Our bakery items will be fresh and homemade and the coffee
will be roasted fresh and in-house. “In the US, statistics state that over 83% of Americans drink
coffee.” (Gaille, B. 2017). There is also an “average of 63% people of all ages that drink coffee
every day and as the age goes up those percentages increase.” (Gaille, B., 2017). Coffee is
popular and important in the majority of people’s busy everyday lives to wake us up and get us
moving in the morning. We will seek to differentiate our company from other big name, chain
coffee shops by offering excellent customer service and be on a friendly first-name basis with the
customer.
Situation Analysis
The company name is Nomad Coffee Co. and our main product for sale is of course
brewed coffee. We offer fair-trade coffee beans, roasted and grinded fresh in-house. We have the
fresh ground coffee for sale in packages, our brewed coffee and coffee drinks, hot teas and
seasonal bakery items. We have zero chain competitors nearby and only a couple of chain
breakfast restaurants fairly close. We have distributors that we deal with in Peru, Guatemala and
Puerto Rico that we obtain our fair-trade coffee beans. They are obtained in a way that helps their
, community and helps the environment as well. We will also use both of these facts as part of our
marketing campaign.
The Covid-19 pandemic has hurt a lot of businesses in the restaurant and bar sector but
we will continue to thrive because not only do we have an efficient and easily accessible drive-
thru window but we have also branched out our business during the recent pandemic. We have
branched out and have agreed to work with Door Dash and Uber Eats so that we can increase our
business in the area and offer delivery without having to do the delivery ourselves with a small
staff. Since we live in a smaller area this is actually beneficial because there are not many
restaurants on either delivery app.
Objectives
Our goal is to steadily increase the customer base and keep it steady and rising. We want
to increase the customer base and win over the local customers first and appeal to them over their
regular coffee choices and/or choices for snacks or bakery type items. We want to see a steady
increase over the first 3-6 months in customer numbers and sales. We expect a plateau at some
point at which time we start our second phase of online marketing. The plateau will probably
start at the 6 month point and at that time we will start the second part of online marketing on our
Facebook, website and other social media pages. We will also start out rewards program for
regular customers at that time also.
Our goal is to start a business but also provide a good business reputation. We want to
provide good prices but also provide a higher quality selection of products and provide the best
customer service experience for our customers. We pride ourselves on getting to know our
customers and knowing them on a first-name basis. This is what makes us stand out from the
other big-name coffee shops and chain restaurants. We offer better customer service than other
shops and also offer fast and accurate customer service. We will have a small brick and mortar
