Essay
Throughout this course we have learned new ways of building confidence and
improving our interpersonal communication with our coworkers. We have learned how to
resolve conflict as well as what happens when we don’t. I also learned how to become an
effective leader while taking this course. In the text we learned about the nine strategies and
tactics needed to enhance your career. In this paper we discuss my top three strategies I found
to be the most important to my career. My top three are developing career goals, being
passionate about and proud of your work, and the continuous growth through learning and self-
development.
I believe that in order to enhance you career you must first start with developing
your career goals. Without goals there is no purpose behind enhancing your career.
According to Alex Janin, she mentions the top strategy for developing a career goals is
taking
initiative[ CITATION Jan21 \l 1033 ]. Don’t wait to be asked “What are your goals.” No one
is going to give you goals or care if you do not have them. The next action when developing
career goals is to make the goals actionable, measurable, and achievable. These steps work
hand in
hand with one another and should not be done without the other. If a goal is not actionable then
it is just writing on paper. When a goal is actionable then we can measure the good and bad.
By measuring we use a metric that can demonstrate success or adjust when needed to ensure we
make it to the last step of achieving. If the goal set is not achievable then we will give up and
