Personal Information: Part A
When googling my name Maura Talley, there were several things that popped up. One
was there is an actress by that name, who stared in the 2014 movie “A Million Ways to Die”.
Another thing was all the Pinterest pages that had my name as usernames in them. There was a
wedding registry that pulled up along with LinkedIn accounts. It was many different sites that
pulled up where one could get information like current address, cell phone number, state records
and obituary for my late grandfather. I think the most surprising thing was the state records from
Texas. I have only lived in Texas less than 10 years. I feel like being online can influence a lot in
your life and your professional opportunities. It shows current employers and future employers
how you carry yourself in the public and the social world. This can either hurt or help in the long
run when it comes to personal information online. For as Goffman’s approach on digital
footprints, this is a way for people to see things about you. It shows an image of how you present
yourself to the online world. All the information you put online shows a trail of your life and
when we make it public.

I have had a Facebook page for little over 15 years now, so I have a lot of information on
it. When looking at it, you can see how I have grown and matured as a person. When I first
