, 1.Introduction


Making decisions is an inevitable part of our daily routines, regardless of how big
it is and what is its impacts either on individual life or others. Nowadays, decision-
making is getting far more attention, in contrast to past decades regarding to increase
the leadership effectiveness in an organization. According to unavoidable changes in
technology, resources and needs, leaders are expected to be more concern about
adopting the appropriate managerial leadership style and decision-making due to
ascertain sustainability and improvement of business. Therefore, following paper will be
briefly discussed the anatomy of top-management and its characteristics to propound
the impact of managerial leadership on decision-making. Further, the paper will
articulate the demographic attributes considering their effects on decision-making. The
aforementioned concern will be outlined by arguing the anatomy of TMT in healthcare
system and exemplified the recent decision applied.



2.The Top management teams


The top-management team (TMT) refers to the group of people have the eminent
influence on organizational performance. The management pyramid encompasses
three level of management, namely low, middle and top-level. Top manager’s cognitive
perception affects their way of overseeing and controlling the organization. In contrast to
low-manager who responsible to direct and control, or middle-managers who focus on
executing organizational plan, TMT plays critical role in characterizing the vision and
establish organizational values and objectives (Wu et. al., 2017, p.5). In essence, top-
managers are considered as the most pivotal assets in the organization leading to the
success or failure of organizational culture implementation and business performance.
Top-level management are the backbone for developing goals, strategies, polices and
plans directing business in the competitive market. Hence, the effectiveness of these
decisions is relied on leadership style adopted by organization.
