QUANTITATIVE MODELLING I
100 Marks
Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes
EXAMINERS: First: Mr A Nange (084-5209118 or 083-2066514) Second: Prof CJ Swanepoel
This paper consists of 14 pages, including a list of formulas. Programmable calculator permissible.
Instructions:
Answer all the questions. The paper comprises of 30 questions that count a total of 100 marks.
Only ONE option, indicated as [1] [2] [3] [4] per question is correct. The answers to the examination MCQ may
only be submitted online.
Submit the answers on myUnisa by
1. On the landing page for myUnisa, before login, go back to the link where you downloaded your examination
paper: Login and download my Exam Question Paper for May/June 2020.
2. Login using your student number and myUnisa password.
3. On the next screen, find the module code DSC1520. Click on the link to “submit MCQ”. This link will only
display if the examination session is still open for submissions.
4. A new screen will open that will guide you through the steps to upload your answers.
5. Enter the total number of questions (30) for the paper in the Number of Questions field.
6. Read the Honesty Declaration statement, then click the check box to acknowledge that you have read the
statement.
7. If you agree with the Honesty Declaration statement, type I AGREE in the text box. You cannot continue
with the submission process if you do not complete the requirements of the declaration.
8. When done, click on the Continue button.
9. You will now be able to fill out the multiple-choice question answers. Click on the radio button (the small
circle) that corresponds to your answer for that question.
10. When done, click on the Continue button. If you want to restart the submission, click on Clear Form to
remove all your selections and start from new.
11. A screen presenting a summary of all your answers will be displayed. Use it as a final check.
12. Click on the Continue button to submit your assessment. If you do not click Continue, no submission action
will take place.
13. If you want to redo the answers to the assessment, click Back.
14. After you have clicked on Continue in step 12, a submission report will be displayed. This is your proof
that your answers were successfully submitted. If you do not see this screen, Unisa has not received your
submission. Print this page or make a screen capture for record purposes.
If you fail to submit after following the above instructions, submit via the following alternative link:

• If you are unsuccessful with the alternative submission link, send error reports to the primary lecturer(From
mylife e-mail address only).
• NB: Remember to clear the cache (deleting history browser) and ensuring your device is on REAL TIME.
