, #Recyclenergy
Two environmental issues that I feel passionate for are world pollution & recycling. Air
pollution can harm us when it accumulates in the air in high enough concentrations. Millions of
Americans live in areas where urban smog, particle pollution, & toxic pollutants pose serious
health concerns. People exposed to high enough levels of certain air pollutants may experience
irritation of the eyes, nose, & throat, coughing, chest tightness, & breathing difficulties,
worsening of existing lung & heart problems, such as asthma, & increased risk of heart attack.
Recycling is very important as well. If we don’t recycle, Pollution & pollutants will overpopulate
the Earth whether it is air, water, or land pollution. People will stop riding bikes & will ride cars
which emit carbon dioxide into the air. The atmosphere will be damaged if too much carbon
dioxide goes into the air. Landfills will become too massive & crowded with trash & items that
could be recycled. The landfills will become too toxic from all the chemicals coming out of
Styrofoam, batteries, plastic, paper, & more. By not reducing, reusing, & recycling, we are
destroying natural habitats. The trees are being cut down faster than they can regrow, thanks to
people who don’t recycle paper & other wood products.
One of the social media hashtag campaign I have been influenced by is #solarpanels,
because it encourages companies & homes to change to renewable energy source that will
benefit the environment as well. Typical electricity is generated from fossil fuel that will run out
one day. Solar energy is a good alternative to replace fossil fuel as the major energy source
because solar power is renewable at absolutely no cost to supply energy infinitely. Any effort that
can reduce the pollution to the environment helps to save the earth.
