Areas of Specialization
• Social workers have areas of specialization. This provides focus and
efficiency in addressing the concerns of the society.
Child, family, and school social work
• assisting children who were traumatized or abused
• counseling students who experienced unexpected life events
• assisting parent
child welfare – provisional programs and services for the children’s physical,
social, psychological, spiritual, and cultural development
adoption – provided with substitute care or permanent parental care
legal guardship – guardian until the child reaches 18 years old

residential care – temporary care when parents can’t provide it
